This being my first post and all, I felt that maybe I should write something that would be interestingly deep. However, considering certain things, it will be much more comfortable right now for me to wade, then to swim, so I'll keep it shallow. I appreciate those from the church in Longview, as well as some of my family, who are helping and encouraging me to share on our blog. I am surrounded and blessed with those much more talented than me in so many areas and I will do my best not to disappoint them. If they complain, well, they're fired! Nothing personal though. Of course, I am just kidding, "pushy" is good sometimes.
On a more serious note, I will seek the Lord for help along the way to share thoughts and experiences that I hope will be a blessing to someone. The time is short and way is narrow; the day is far spent and we are not saved; the field is ripe for harvest but the laborers are few. This is an opportune time to seek the Lord while He may be found and to call upon Him while He is near. Jesus is a friend who will ever to the end be true. I spoke from Malachi 3: 6 this morning, "I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed." We see change all around us. People change, minds change, promises are broken, nature is constantly changing, we have "up and down days", bad days," sorry we woke up" days, as well as good days. But one thing you can count on every day is that there is a God who never changes! He never has a bad day, His brow is not wrinkled from worry, His love is the same to us, His attributes are unchanging, His plans never change, and neither do His threats. You can throw yourself on a God like that, who is still the "Rock of Ages", stronger than granite, and even though we may shift around and stagger, the rock never changes. He will ever to the end be true! Count on it.
